José Maria Cordova: international airport, 40 kilometers and 40 minutes from the Medellin. Its proximity to the city it’s because it is connected by a freeway with slow traffic which allows you to admire the green mountains of the region of Antioquia.

Olaya Herrera Airport: located within the city and it’s used domestic and regional flights. Medellin is well connected with direct international routes. It’s midsize city with efficient mobility and transportation. Trips are short and are on average about 15 to 20 minutes from and to any place.

Medellin has an integrated and massive transport system: Metro, Metro cables, Metro plus, Buses and Taxis.

There are also two land transportation terminals (South and North) that connect the Sub regions of Medellin, Antioquia Department and the rest of the country.


The people of Medellin are friendly, entrepreneurial, intelligent, capable, dynamic, hospitable, caring, cheerful, enthusiastic, committed and competitive.


Office hours: Monday to Friday 7:30 am to 12:00 pm. and 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Banks and corporations: Monday through Thursday from 8:00 am to 11:30 am and from 2:00 pm to 4:30 or 5:00 pm depending on the institution. There are branches in malls or chain stores that offer extended hours.

Commercial establishments: Monday to Saturday between 9:00 am and 7:00 pm. Shopping malls are opened until 9:00 pm. Sunday's commercial activities run until 7:00 p.m.

Restaurants, bars and nightclubs: Monday to Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m., some of the clubs in the city have AAA rating.


It is important for travelers to have health insurance from their home country. The city of Medellin has specialists and many hospitals considered to be of the highest quality in Latin America. Many pharmacies offer 24 hour service around the city.

Police and Security: the traveler is advised not to carry the original identification documents. Use the safes of the hotels to store personal items, documents, jewelry and cash. Transit through secure sites and that are only recommended by trusted guides. The hotline for emergencies is 123.
